Panes

Panes provide access to wireless network reports and diagrams. You can have only one pane open in your work area at a time. You can dock a pane so that it is attached to the border, or the pane can float.

To Follow these steps
Show a pane Click Report or Diagram on the lower-left corner of the screen.
Hide a pane Click on the title bar.
Un-dock a pane (make it float) Double-click the title bar, or click the title bar and drag the pane from its docked position.
Re-dock a pane Double-click the title bar, or click the title bar and drag the pane to its docked position.

Networks pane

Click Report on the lower-left corner of the screen to display the Networks pane. If you do not have AMS Device Manager or AMS Wireless Configurator installed, you will not see the Networks pane.

The Networks pane lists wireless networks connected to AMS Device Manager or AMS Wireless Configurator. Click a network to generate a report.

Diagrams pane

Click Diagram on the lower-left corner of the screen to display the Diagrams pane.

The Diagrams pane displays your Local and Shared diagrams. Double-click a diagram to open it. Opening a diagram gives you access to the Palettes pane and Parameters pane.

Palettes pane

The Palettes pane provides live devices, placeholder devices, obstructions, and notes. Unplaced live devices are displayed when a wireless network is imported or transitioned. Placeholder devices are used to represent live devices when planning your wireless network. You can change the properties of placeholder devices. Obstructions are used to represent physical obstructions in your site that may affect the signal between one or more devices. Notes are used to add information to a diagram. Notes are displayed in all wireless networks of a diagram. You can choose to show the note text or the note icon.

This pane is only available when a diagram is open.

Parameters pane

The Parameters pane provides network design parameters for the diagram. Most of the parameters are editable, but some reflect the state of the diagram and its devices. The values on the editable parameters apply to all networks in the diagram. Click each row to display text below the table further describing the setting.

This pane is only available when a diagram is open.
