  2. In Basic Balance mode, set the following options.
    Option Description
F2 Toggle Config. Press F2 to select 1 plane, 1 sensor or 1 plane, 2 sensors.
F8 Enter Balance Spec. Enter a value between 0.001 and 10,000 for the desired vibration level for the equipment, and press Enter. The units are the same as the sensor.
F10 Tach Config. Set up a tachometer or open a saved configuration. See Set up a tachometer in Balance or Open a saved tachometer setup in Balance for details.
F12 Sensor Setup Set up the type of sensor, the sensor parameters, or a multiplexer. See Set up a sensor in Balance or Set the mux option for details.
  3. In Advanced Balance mode, set the following options.
    Option Description
F1 Weight Planes Enter 1 and press Enter.
F2 Meas. Planes Enter a number between 1 and 8 and press Enter.
F3 Meas. Points Enter a number between 1 and 8 and press Enter. The maximum number depends on the number of measurement planes.
F8 Enter Balance Spec. Enter a value between 0.001 and 10,000 for the desired vibration level for the equipment, and press Enter. The units are the same as the sensor.
    F9 Select Weight Units

    (Optional)

Select the trial and trim weight units for the job. The Balance program displays this unit wherever a weight displays. You cannot change this value after any trial run data is acquired.
Note: Weight Units are only a reference for UltraBal reports or future setups. The analyzer does not use weight units to calculate the balance correction.
F10 Tach Config. Set up a tachometer or open a saved configuration. See Set up a tachometer in Balance or Open a saved tachometer setup in Balance for details.
    F11 Speed Setup

    (Optional)

Enter a number between 1 and 6 to set the number of equipment speeds (RPM), and set the valid range for collecting data using Delta RPM, which is used for all speeds. See Set up the equipment speed in Balance for steps.

The number of measurement points multiplied by the number of measurement speeds cannot exceed 24.

Note: The analyzer does not use speed to calculate the balance correction.
  4. From the Job Setup screen, press Enter.
In Basic Balance mode, the Acquire Data screen appears and you are ready to collect data. In Advanced Balance mode, the Measurement Plane Setup screen appears.
