Set the plot types for stored and live ODS/Modal data

Overview

The Plot Setup option lets you define the plots to display stored and live data.

Procedure

  1. Activate a job.
  2. From the ODS/Modal main menu, press ALT > F5 Plot Setup.
  3. Select a plot.
The Data Plot Setup shows collected data, and the Live Plot Setup shows data during collection.
  4. Use the up and down arrow keys to select an option. The options vary based on the number of inputs you set up.
    Option Description
Plot Off Do not display a plot.
Waveform - All Display multiple waveforms.
Spectrum - All Display multiple spectrums.
Ref Waveform and All Coherence Display a waveform from the reference input, and coherence plots for the other plots.
Ref Waveform and All Cross Channel Phase Display a waveform from the reference input, and cross channel phase plots for the other plots.
Ref Waveform and All FRF (Ref/Resp) Display a waveform from the reference input, and FRF plots for the other plots. FRF displays a spectrum representing the transfer function of the reference input/the response input.
Ref Waveform and All FRF (Resp/Ref) Display a waveform from the reference input, and FRF plots for the other plots. FRF displays a spectrum representing the transfer function of the response input/the reference input.
    Waveform - Reference

Display the waveform from the reference input.

    Spectrum - Reference

Display the spectrum from the reference input.

    Waveform - Response

Display the waveform from the response input.

    Spectrum - Response

Display the spectrum from the response input.

    Coherence

Describe the degree of linear relationship between the reference and response inputs. A coherence value close to one (1.0) at a frequency indicates the response and reference are linearly related, and the measurement signal to noise ratio is high.

    Cross Channel Phase (Resp/Ref)

Display the phase relationship of the response and reference signals.

    FRF (Ref/Resp)

Display a spectrum representing the transfer function of the reference input/the response input. It is the amount of force that is required to provide a response at a given frequency.

    FRF (Resp/Ref)

Display a spectrum representing the transfer function of the response input/the reference input. It is the measured ratio of response of the structure acceleration to a known excitation.

  5. Press F6 Plot Format or F12 Plot Format to set the display for multiple plots.
  6. Press Enter.
