Stress test a wireless network

About this task

Run a stress test on a wireless network to highlight potential trouble spots that may occur, or identify which devices are near the limit of their given range. When stress testing is enabled, the effective range of all devices is scaled according to the percentage entered.

To perform this task, your diagram must have a gateway, several wireless devices, and a defined scale.

Procedure

  1. Check the network layout of your diagram.
If the Check Network dialog is displayed, click OK.
  2. Click Enable Stress Testing on the Network tab.
  3. Type or select a value on the Stress Test box.
Devices that do not meet configured wireless recommended practices are highlighted with red circles.
  4. Click Disable Stress Testing on the Network tab to stop stress testing.
Device ranges revert to their original values.
