Step 1: Prepare. Create a wireless diagram of your plant

To use the AMS Wireless SNAP-ON application, you first need to create a wireless diagram that accurately depicts your facility.

  1. Gather relevant electronic versions of plot plans, aerial photos, or other materials that contain the areas where wireless devices will be deployed. The AMS Wireless SNAP-ON application refers to these collectively as plot plans.

    Save a version of each of these plot plans as .JPG or .BMP files in a drawing program of your choice.

  2. Create a new diagram and load your plot plan.
  3. Define the scale for the plot plan in the wireless diagram and then indicate the obstruction height for the surrounding infrastructure.

    You can specify multiple wireless networks in a single diagram. The plot plan, scale, and obstruction height is shared by all the wireless networks in the diagram.
