Transition a placeholder network

About this task

Associate your placeholder devices with live devices configured in AMS Device Manager.

Note: You must have a gateway configured in AMS Device Manager or AMS Wireless Configurator, a connection to AMS Device Manager or AMS Wireless Configurator, and at least a gateway on a diagram to transition it.

Procedure

  1. Open the diagram containing the wireless network you want to associate with a wireless network in AMS Device Manager or AMS Wireless Configurator.
  2. If the diagram has more than one wireless network, select the wireless network from the Networks list on the upper-left corner of the diagram. .
  3. Select Transition Network on the Network tab.
  4. Select a wireless network from the list.
  5. Click OK.

Results

The gateway and live devices that match tags on the diagram appear on the diagram. Devices without a matching tag on the diagram are added to the Live Devices section on the Palettes pane. You can drag an unplaced device to the diagram. Placeholder devices without matching live devices remain unchanged.

You can transition individual devices by dragging the device icon from the Live Devices section on the Palettes pane onto a placeholder device on the diagram.
